2011 Book Festival Author
Arnold Grummer

Author Biography

Through his many years of work at the Institute of Paper Chemistry (IPC) and as curator of the Dard Hunter Paper Museum, Arnold Grummer has come to know an inordinate amount of information about paper. This expertise has led to his giving lectures or workshops at institutions such as the FBI Academy, the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, the Internal Revenue Service, the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and the Smithsonian Institution, to name a few. Grummer has also enjoyed writing in a variety of forms since he graduated from college in 1948. After being asked "Can I make my own paper?" by numerous visitors to the Dard Hunter Paper Museum, Grummer wrote his first craft book, Paper by Kids (1980), and founded a company to sell papermaking kits and supplies. His other papermaking books include Tin Can Papermaking (1992), Complete Guide to Easy Papermaking (1999), Complete Guide to Paper Casting (2002), and Trash-to-Treasure Papermaking (2011).
