Author Biography
Alex Bledsoe is known for his well-told stories that often combine elements of folklore, action, fantasy, and science fiction. He is the author of the popular detective/fantasy series featuring Eddie LaCrosse, a "private sword jockey" who seems to end up with a tricky mystery to solve no matter what case he takes on. Novels in this series are: The Sword-Edged Blonde (2007), Burn Me Deadly (2009), and Dark Jenny (2011). Bledsoe has also written novels featuring vampires living in Memphis, Tennessee, during the 1970s: Blood Grove (2009) and The Girls with Games of Blood (2010). His book The Hum and the Shiver (2011) is the first in a new series about the Tufa, a unique group of people who live in the mountains of Eastern Tennessee and seem to have very unusual powers connected to their music and musical abilities.
Bledsoe grew up in Tennessee, studied at the University of Tennessee, and worked a number of jobs, including as a reporter, photographer, and salesman. He now lives in Wisconsin with his family and writes early in the mornings.
