2012 Book Festival Author
Morganne MacDonald

Author Biography

Morganne MacDonald (who writes under the name Leigh Morgan) is known for her romances that feature strong, independent women who are at turning points in their lives. In Second Chances (2011), for example, Milwaukee history professor Rhiannon Thorson goes to Wales for a fresh start and meets a rock star who is also thinking of making some changes--and sparks of attraction fly. In addition to themes of love and family, the martial arts play an important role in MacDonald's Dojo Chronicles books: Sparring Partners (2010) and Fighting Fate (soon-to-be released).

MacDonald is a graduate of UW-Milwaukee and Marquette University Law School. As a lawyer, she worked in many areas, including child advocacy and elder law. She has trained in martial arts for years and has a fourth degree black belt in Okinawan Shorin Ryu karate.
